After thirty years in Paris, the sculptor Isabelle Thiltg\u00e8s decided to go back to her roots\u00a0: Belgium.<\/em><\/span><\/h5>\n

She opened her workshop in the calm town of Ixelles, near Brussels.<\/p>\n

Isabelle Thiltg\u00e8s\u2019 workshop is inside her art gallery\u00a0; from inside radiates a feeling of ease.<\/p>\n

Why did you choose sculpture among all the other arts\u00a0?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I did a lot of modeling when I was a child. Then I stopped before coming back to it when I was a young mother. I took some classes with a ceramist\u00a0: she had a not that much traditional method\u00a0: she said we had to carve with our guts, to come back to the essential in our art.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m carving for more than twenty years now.<\/p>\n

What kind of material are you using and why\u00a0?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019m working with clay, because it\u2019s a awesome material ! I love touching it. Clay is malleable, I can work with it handful\u2026 My hands are talking.<\/p>\n

My originals are in clay and my exhibition sizes are in bronze.<\/p>\n

Do you have a creative routine\u00a0?<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Of course not\u00a0! I hate routine. I spend my time between my workshop and days in the foundry.<\/p>\n

Isabelle Thitlg\u00e8s will exhibit some of her sculptures in Port-Fr\u00e9jus at the end of Summer, from the 27th August to the 2nd<\/sup> November 2021.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
